The popular artist Shoko Koike has held numerous exhibitions and received multiple awards since beginning her practice in the 1970s. The unique vision displayed in the bold and supple forms of her “Kai no Utsuwa” (Shell Vessels) series has charmed many.
Focusing on the lusterware Koike created in the 1980s before her breakthrough with the “Kai no Utsuwa” series, this exhibition presents some 20 works, including pieces on public display for the first time.
