The Bhutan Exhibition— A Hint to Happiness

Ueno Royal Museum
Finished
With the support of the National Museum of Bhutan, the Bhutan Textile Museum, and the Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan, this exhibition marking 30 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bhutan presents artifacts of Bhutanese Buddhism, including statues, paintings, texts, and weavings, along with other important cultural objects on display in Japan for the first time.
These items both contain people’s prayers and are aesthetically beautiful, speaking to us of the invisible spiritual value of Buddhist teachings and beliefs. There is also a special exhibition from the Royal Collection, containing clothing worn by Bhutanese royalty. Come discover the beauty and way of life of this “Country of Happiness.”
