Jan van der Ploeg, Riette Wanders
Goya Curtain will host “Why hide them?,” an exhibition of works by visiting Dutch artists Jan van der Ploeg and Riette Wanders.
Van der Ploeg, an artist known for his large scale works applied to existing architectural spaces, will present a new wallpaper work, which seems fitting given the domestic nature of the 1DK apartment space.where the Goya Curtain in located. With his well-considered vocabulary of color and shapes, his works invite viewers to experience spaces in new ways.
Wanders will present a combination of new digital prints, drawings and textile works. She is an artist that searches for elusive and contradictory images: images that are difficult to define in regards to the time in which they are made and the intention with which they are created. Wanders works from photographs, music and her own personal experience to realize this imagery within the finished works.
