Bits of Kyoto Garden

Kyoto Institute of Technology - Kyoto Design Lab Tokyo Gallery
Finished
In 2015, KYOTO Design Lab (D-lab), at the Kyoto Institute of Technology used 3D scanning and sound recording at three Japanese gardens in Kyoto. This collaboration with Institute of Landscape Architecture at ETH Zürich led by Professor Christophe Girot used their original methodology to produce audio-visual re-compositions of the gardens. This exhibition introduces you to this experiment in the creation of new spatial experiences. The context is that of the relationship between gardens, architecture and urban spaces. It involves different genres of buildings of different eras from temples to townhouses to modern architecture.
