Based in Kyoto Yuki Inoue investigates the structure of painting through drawing, tableau and installation. In the struggle born through the pursuit of a relation with the outside world Inoue has come upon painting as a method of exploration. Satoko Ukai creates painting, installation and other art forms from her base in Aichi, in an attempt to grasp her subject. Both share a search for the skin of painting and then move on to dissect this.
