Artists

Ryudai Takano
Ryudai Takano is an artist who critically assesses the historical and social constructs which create the behaviors of our everyday life, with themes ranging from “sexuality”, “the city”, and “modernity”. Since 1998 he has continued his “Everyday Photography” series where he takes a photograph each day without fail, bringing light the plurality of individual perception. In this exhibition he has made a selection of works from both the “Everyday Photography” series and the “Photo-Graph” series which features black and white photographic studies of light, basing his choice of prints based on distance and time. These include observations on the shift of the physical city and the individual body while at the same time examining the distances which govern the spaces which we inhabit. This exhibition will be held at the same time as another solo show at Yumiko Chiba Associates viewing room shinjuku.
