Aki Kondo
In 2015 Aki Kondo unveiled her epic animation “Hikari” created from 14,000 frames of oil painting and hand drawn stills in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake. Following this she spent a 9 day residence at Tokyo Shiodome Park Hotel in which she painted the entire walls of a hotel room. In January 2016 she presented live painting in collaboration with Ichiro Yamaguchi at Ebisu’s Liquid Room, later going on to show at Art Basel Hong Kong. In this solo exhibition she responds to the people and events she has encountered with a collection of resonating work.
