Artists

Natsumi Kawashiro, Kayoko Kimura, Tomoko Hashimoto, Yukiko Hori, Miyuki Yokomizo
The Seiji Togo Memorial Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Museum of Art is organizing a series of exhibitions titled “Quintet: Five-Star Artists,” each featuring five artists whose work has been shown regularly in museum exhibitions and other venues in Japan and overseas. The unifying theme for this series is ‘landscape.’

For the third installment, “Quintet III,” around 70 new works by artists Natsumi Kawashima, Kayoko Kimura, Tomoko Hashimoto, Yukiko Hori, and Miyuki Yokomizo will be showcased. In the twenty-something years since they graduated from university, these five artists have presented work in a broad range of exhibitions, including “Outstanding Rising Artists Exhibition” and “Domani: The Art of Tomorrow.” The theme of this particular exhibition is ‘nature’ and the five artists have created works inspired directly by nature. They are paintings that embody original compositions and express the unique sense and personal memories of these artists, while also revealing a common sensitivity that will move the heart and mind of the viewer. Stand in front of these paintings and tune into the vibrations emanating from the canvas - you will be sure to hear a quintet performing, the music continuing to reverberate for some time.
