Body/Play/Politics presents contemporary works of art that delve from a variety of angles into images that have been generated throughout history by “the body,” which encompasses the individual human body, our collective actions, and spiritual presences. The six artists featured in this exhibition are from Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Japan. Their works express, in poetic and sometimes humor-inflected ways, aspects of history that manifest themselves through the body, looking toward the future and bringing the shapes of new ideas and meanings into view.

Yokohama Museum Of Art features the work of artists associated with Yokohama, surrealist works, and a vast photography collection. 
The museum continuously expands its collection, which totals over 6,000 pieces ranging from the 19th century to the present age. Yokohama Museum of Art holds exhibitions of this collection throughout the year, as well as planned exhibitions four times a year to different themes. The facilities include an atelier, art library, and terminals offering art information. They also sporadically hold concerts to provide enjoyment through other forms of art.
