Taro Okamoto
The contemporary artist Taro Okamoto had a special relationship with the island culture of Okinawa. He traveled there multiple times during the late 1950s and 1960s, writing books such as “Treatise on Okinawa Culture – Forgotten Japan.” Through his own photographs and sculptures created around the time of his travels there, this exhibition explores what Okinawa was to Taro Okamoto.
