Kana Uwatoko, Kanae Shimada, Haruka Kawabata, Saki Fujikawa
This seemingly simple sentence - “Where does she come from?” - has various implications: where do their ideas come from, where were they (characters in paintings) born?, who is this artist I’ve never seen? and so on and so forth. This exhibition invites you to think about this deceptive question.

Kana Uwatoko is an up-and-coming artist who depicts striking ghosts in her powerful paintings. Kanae Shimada often depicts a girl in her works, while the landscapes she paints have a good sense of balance. Haruka Kawabata usually features repeated motifs in her work, but she has moved away from these for this exhibition. As always, Saki Fujikawa will present work work that takes a totally original and fresh approach.
