Shizuru Otaka with Takayuki Fujimoto: Art Museum in the Dark

Ichihara Lakeside Museum
Finished

Artists

Shizuru Otaka, Takayuki Fujimoto
The well-known singer and voice actress Shizuru Otaka, who appears on the NHK children’s program “Nihongo de Asobo,” joins forces with lighting artist Takayuki Fujimoto, a leader in Japanese stage art. “Art Museum in the Dark” at the Ichihara Lakeside Museum presents a world of light and shadow (a theme of Otaka’s work) in a fantastical installation combining light and Otaka’s beautiful voice in the museum’s eight-meter-high atrium. The birth of light from darkness, the interplay of light and shadow – how do people feel and live in these inextricably linked worlds? This hands-on exhibition engages with these messages.
