Bontaro Dokuyama “Shiver and Orgasm”

Komagome Soko
Finished

Artists

Bontaro Dokuyama
Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1984, artist Bontaro Dokuyama documents the psychology and realities of people wanting but unable to escape in today’s society. His subjects include the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Sea Shepherds, and a village of protest tents outside the Ministry of Trade, Economy, and Industry. Neither a straight-forward ode to humanism or a simple social critique, this show is an opportunity to consider the ins and outs of reality from individual perspectives. It is held simultaneously with Kyun-chome’s “Hello in Darkness.”
