“Imaginary Synonym” introduces the works of 3 creators from around the Asian region, who previously participated in the International Creator Residency Program 2015.
Synonyms are words that share similar meanings to others; however, there is always a gap in their interpretation according to images each individual may conjure. Interpretation does not have to be unified, and this deviation sometimes produces a trigger towards creativity.
The 3 creators here have uncovered such possibilities through these gaps amongst their cultures during their stay at TWS Residency and here explore these in all their diversity and ambiguity.
