Joshibi University of Art and Design Concentration in Textiles, Ceramics & Glass Graduation Exhibition

Daikanyama Hillside Forum
Finished
Studying industrial design and craft technology, students of the Joshibi Design and Crafts Department explore the possibilities and boundaries of both handicrafts and machine production. Their works respond to the needs of the age with imaginative and expressive power. In their first year, Joshibi Design and Craft students acquire knowledge of the fundamental techniques of dyeing, weaving, embroidery, ceramics, and glass-making before choosing either the ceramics or glass course in their second year, and specializing further in their third. Having carefully selected their curricula, these students have gained breadth and depth in crafting skills and technological know-how, on full display here in this exhibition of their graduation projects. Multiple galleries around Shibuya are exhibiting Joshibi graduation works. Hillside Terrace focuses on glass works. Please see the websites of the other venues for details on their shows.
