The Karatsu ware ceramicst Kai Yoshino passed away in November, 2015 at the age of 74. At 70 he had just recently bequeathed the Haze kiln to his daughter, Keiko Yoshino, and taken a new artist’s (Kai) to signify the progression of classical Karatsu pottery into the modern age. This dream is carried on in his works and those of his daughter in this exhibition of tea bowls, flower vases, sake ware. Visitors can enjoy Karatsu sweets and tea in the Yoshinos’ cups. Keiko Yoshino will be at the gallery on March 16th.
