Artists

Toshiya Watanabe
This is the third exhibition at Poetic Scape for Toshiya Watanabe. His 2013 exhibition “18 Months” presented works quietly overlapping memories of his hometown in Fukushima with its strange day-to-day realities as a no-go zone after the nuclear disaster. In “Somewhere Not Here,” his photographic images evoke invisible anxieties and hopes existing deep within the everyday as we move further down turbulent roads. His works suggest shining hope in fathomless water surfaces and shapeless anxieties at the bottom of rivers that flow like our society today.
