Scai Park’s inaugural exhibition presents work by Darren Almond, Daniel Buren, Jenny Holzer, On Kawara, and Lee Ufan. Darren Almond, an English artist who held a solo show at Art Tower Mito in 2013, unveils new work, as does Lee Ufan, a Japan-based artist featured at the Palace of Versailles in 2014.

Almond’s paintings come from a series based on images of nebulas and star systems taken with the Hubble Space Telescope. Lee displays new works in his “Dialogue” series incorporating a rich array of pigments. Jenny Holzer, known for her LED texts, presents work from “Selection from Truisms: Being Happy Is…” in which phrases are carved into limestone benches. Leading conceptual artist On Kawara’s is represented with works from his early “Date Painting” series. Finally, Daniel Buren, an artist who has made a name for himself with striped installations, exhibits publically for the first time in 28 years the special white-striped Japan edition of his “Five Elements” acrylic paintings on white and yellow cloth created for the 1989 Nagoya ICA exhibition.
