The title of this exhibition is derived from the Latin word for earth, “terra,” often used to refer to things that “come from the earth” or are themselves “like earth.” According to the artist Albert Yonathan, the aim of this exhibition is to explore the contrast between the material and the abstract, the secular and the spiritual. In pursuing this subject, he uses clay to hand mold ceramic works, not using any templates to form the shapes. 11 pieces will be on exhibit here, centering on an installation featuring his highly-acclaimed ceramic works, and including new works from ongoing projects, such as videos and drawings.
