Diesel Art Gallery presents an innovative collaboration between the South Africa-based Roger Ballen, one of the 21st century’s most important photographers, and the New York-based Asger Carlsen, whose unprecedented, digitally manipulated images of the human form are stirring conversations around the world. Ballen and Carlsen each explore relationships between their own souls and bodies in their collaboration. In addition to forming a sense of displacement and inherent disconnection, their perspectives are rooted in a bottomless desire to create and convey photographic art through their own aesthetics.
