“Supporting Contemporary Japanese Art – Future and Legacy” International Symposium

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists. The Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan will convene a two-day symposium for research into future cultural diplomacy in support of artists, with a focus on visual arts. Japanese and international artists, curators and researchers will come together to share information on the situation surrounding young artists and art archives. This event aims to cultivate and evaluate the work of artists, and to discuss and verify prospects for supporting emerging artists.
