Film Class of 2017 - Japanese animation as seen through materials

2017 marks 100 years since the birth of animated film in Japan, where animation has now become representative of Japanese culture. This program will present various important films from the National Film Center collection. This is a chance to deepen your understanding of Japanese film. Titles screening include “A Story of Tobacco” (1924) and “Mount Head” (2002).

Screening Dates: June 28 (Wed), July 5 (Wed), 19 (Wed), 26 (Wed) 19:20- (Doors Open: 19:00)
All five events will be accompanied by a 15 minute talk by a researcher
