Artists

Wataru Ozu
Solo exhibition presenting as yet unseen works by Wataru Ozu. Born in Tokyo in 1991, Ozu graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School in 2017. His works to date have each referred to existing paintings, such as Lucas Cranach the Elder’s “Lucretia” and Jean-Baptiste-Siméon Chardin’s “The Ray.” This exhibition expresses the starting point in his process, showing new works that make reference to pieces such as Utagawa Hiroshige’s “The Monkey Bridge in Kai Province” and “Hakone Lake.” See how he approaches these masterpieces through his studies in paint.
