Yukio Fukazawa
Yukio Fukazawa, who passed away at the age of 93 in January, 2017, was a world-renowned Japanese printmaker who taught copperplate etching at Tama Art University for many years. Inspired by artists such as Tetsuro Komai and Chimei Hamada, the self-taught Fukazawa became a leading copperplate printmaker with his large-format multicolored works. He also worked in calligraphy, ceramics, and glass art. This exhibition marking the one-year anniversary of Fukazawa’s death introduces around 40 of his works including, prints from the Tama Art University Museum’s collection and pieces of glass art. Enjoy the expressive world of this multi-talented artist.
