This event has ended.
Yoi Kawakubo incorporates photography, video, and other media in installations transposing contemporary issues and historical events, reinterpreting major issues such as war, economics, and nuclear power as stories of personal history based on his own experiences. This “micro” perspective looks objectively at these subjects with fresh eyes. Adding new elements to his installations, Site-A Gallery revisits “Two Million Years of Solitude,” a series concerned with the cyclical nature of history. It was also featured at Tokyo Wonder Site in 2015 and the Taro Okamoto Museum of Art, Kawasaki in 2016. Come take another look at today’s social problems as we continue living in the spiral of history.
