Contemporary Theatrical Posters 2017: Memories of the theater, of the times, of design, and of the city

Shibuya Hikarie Hall
Finished
In this exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of Poster Hari’s Company, which has worked to connect the city with theater, design and audiences through the medium of posters, roughly 300 contemporary theater posters carefully selected from the company’s collection of more than 20,000 works will be presented across three venues: Atsukobarouh Arts Drinks Talk, Shibuya Hikarie Hall B, Shibuya Cast Space. Discover how poster design and theater companies have changed over the years, from the underground performances of the late 60s, through the theatrical boom of the 70s and 80s, and the eras of quiet theater and new theater. With the performances over, we are left with posters for posterity. Many of the posters exhibited at this event are admired works by contemporary artists and graphic designers that allow you to feel the history of the society and theater from which they originate.
