Tomoaki Ishihara
For Tomoaki Ishihara the constitution of the self is a single, repetitive process comprised of embodying things, visualizing the body, and realizing images as tangible entities. In the style of Japanese poet Kenji Miyazawa, the result of this - the “work” - is an attempt to expand the finiteness of the body by using various materials and forms.
In this exhibition Ishihara will experiment with two different approaches, producing a self-portrait with hair on fabric, and another three-dimensional portrait seamlessly produced using a 3D printer.
