Kousuke Oka’s paintings have a quietness about them, but this in not to be mistaken as an indicator of age, for the motifs he depicts are expressed in a free and fresh way. His works take various approaches; sometimes the subjects depicted seem to have marginally avoided being cut from the composition, while at other times they take on a dramatically deformed shape.
