Currently there are many artists working out of Maebashi, including individuals who are active overseas. In the past several years, young artists have gathered in the vicinity, and galleries and work spaces have been established. In response to such activity, numerous events are being held throughout the year in and around shopping districts, and citizens have been getting increasingly involved in cultural activities. A Maebashi art committee has also been established by artists, gallerists and curators living in Maebashi.

This exhibition will present work by 48 artists and consider how these individuals may lead the future of art in Maebashi. With support from local companies and residents, it will encourage dialogue between artworks and viewers while also stimulating communication.
