Artists

Kishin Shinoyama
Exhibition displaying 30 works shot by photographer Kishin Shinoyama in the 1970s that focus on traditional private residences throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. The works are selected from among those held in the Canon photo collection and are comprised of excerpts from his photo book “House.” Published at the time of shooting, this book features many images taken in all corners of peoples homes, including the living rooms and kitchens of private residences, famous people’s homes, and shots of the dirt floors in traditional dwellings. Through Shinoyama’s photographs you can learn about the history of this era as well as the relationships people had with their houses.
