This exhibition marking the Pola Museum of Art’s 15th anniversary presents works from the museum’s collection of important 19th and 20th century art, from Impressionist and Ecole de Paris works to modern Nihonga and Japanese Western-style paintings. Seventy-one Western paintings and 29 Japanese Western-style paintings have been carefully selected from a collection of approximately 10,000 pieces, including luminaries like Renoir and Matisse. See how modern Western and Japanese painting evolved over the course of a century.
