Haruya Nakajima “Azabu Shoyo – To Ramble About Azabu”

SNOW Contemporary
Finished

Artists

Haruya Nakajima
In works such as “Vale Tudo in New Town” set in his hometown of Tama New Town and “Urashima Gendai Haikai Fuchi” (Roaming the Edges of Modern Urashima) about wandering through the town of Onahama, Fukushima Prefecture, Haruya Nakajima uses the act of strolling to link the social conditions of places with his own poetic sensibilities. His subject for the works of this exhibition is the Tokyo neighborhood of Azabu, where Snow Contemporary is located and where Nakajima went to junior high and high school and currently resides. What kind of Azabu will Nakajima’s wanderings reveal?
