Thirty black and white photographs from the Canon Collection by Shu Sakurai documenting Historic Route 66, the road running between Chicago, Illinois and Santa Monica, California eventually eclipsed by state highways built in 1985. Sakurai’s images of old gas stations, drive-throughs, and other sites from bygone days when Americans once held the West in great esteem evoke poignant feelings of nostalgia.
