Inter College Animation Festival 2017

The National Art Center, Tokyo
Finished
Established in 2002, ICAF is Japan’s first student animation festival, each year screening diverse works by students from throughout the country. For the 15th edition, 29 educational organizations will be taking part in the four-day festival, with each school acting as a screening venue for the works they have selected. This is a chance to discover the future potential of animation and how the genre may develop under the auspices of these soon-to-be leading animators. Those that participated in previous years have gone on to work in the field of TV animation, and win accolades at international festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, and even the Academy Awards. This year’s jury will include Sunao Katabuchi and Tsuneo Goda, while there will also be a section titled “ICAF toranoana” screening works by high school students and above.
