Artists

Tom Christopher
For his first exhibition in Tokyo for seven years, Tom Christopher will present a selection of full color works as well as focusing on monochrome pieces that spotlight the undeniable power of his drawing. The contrast between these works will invite visitors to discover a new dimension to his practice. Roughly 30 works will be included here, including new pieces.

Born in Hollywood, California in 1952, Christopher moved to New York in the early 1980s and began depicting the vibrant cityscape and the unique people who populated. While painting in a style based on realism, he often used unnatural color tones and a non-specific viewpoint, causing some distortion in his images. In 1998, he painted a huge wall mural at Times Square and has since held solo exhibitions in the US and Europe, attracting a larger international audience.
