Exhibiting the National Treasure folding screen “Pine Trees in the Snow” along with paintings and crafts from the museum’s collection that feature “kacho” (bird and flower) motifs, with a special focus on birds. Takanaru Mitsui, a member of the Mitsui Family nicknamed “Bird Matsui” had a special affinity for birds and collected outstanding artworks depicting them, such as Shiko Watanabe’s scroll “Real Forms of Birds.” As the Year of the Rooster comes to a close, take this unique opportunity to enjoy bird watching at the museum.
