Kazuki Takakura
Takakura Kazuki was selected as a finalist for the 7th graphic “1 _ Wall” competition with one of his two-dimensional works comprised of dots. He went on to produce a wide range of works as an artist and illustrator, including a number of pieces on the theme “Pixel,” referring to the individual elements that compose on screen images. He founded “Studio Tokoyo” in 2016 and began working on game development, then going into script writing for theater the following year. He is a creator that has continuously expanded his field of expression in recent years.
This exhibition will present mainly lenticular works and virtual reality (VR) works where the image changes depending on the angle it’s viewed form, suggesting a digital expression for his dot drawings and pictograms. With the focus on the questioning human perception, one of the VR pieces - a collaboration with media artist God Scorpion that takes fortune-telling as its theme - requires the viewer to wear a head-mounted display in order to view the 360° work in its entirety.
