Leonardo da Vinci e Michelangelo

Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Marcello Venusti, Francesco Brina
For artists in 15th century Italy, drawing(disegno in Italian) was one of the most basic and important art forms to show their techniques. This is the first exhibition in Japan to compare the beautiful drawings of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti, such as Da Vinci’s study for the Angel in Vergine delle rocce (The Virgin of the Rocks) and Michelangelo’s head study for Leda and the Swan. As well as drawings, the exhibition will also feature around 65 pieces (30 have never been exhibited in Japan), including oil paintings, manuscripts, and letters centered on works from Biblioteca Reale in Turin and Casa Buonarroti in Florence.
