Hitoshi Tsuboyama “Symbolic”

Radium von Roentgenwerke AG
Finished

Artists

Hitoshi Tsuboyama
Masayoshi Tsuboyama’s paintings symbolize their motifs with low resolutions and an exquisite color sense. In the series “The One,” Tsuboyama paints the iris of the human eye, and in the works exhibited here he has lowered their resolutions to initially indiscernible levels in an attempt at symbolization through color. The subjects of these works are not immediately distinguishable, yet their disassociated motifs eventually take shape in the viewer’s mind as they reach a “landing point” in Tsuboyama’s approach to reality through abstraction in the extreme.
