Best of monochrome 2017 - Aspiring to fine prints

Ricoh Imaging Square Ginza 8F, A.W.P Gallery zone
Finished

Artists

Hideo Nakajima, Tetsuhiko Hata, Toshimi Matsuda, Sei Yoshida
Group exhibition following on from last year’s “Best of Monochrome” show, presenting around 30 fine prints produced by four photographers. As the environment for silver halide photography becomes increasingly tough, this is an opportunity to see monochrome works by photographers who expand the field of digital fine printing displayed alongside those by photographers who continue to work with traditional gelatin silver prints. It includes works by Hideo Nakajima, who practices the zone system techniques formulated by Ansel Adams, Tadahiko Hata, a teacher of fine printing techniques, Toshimi Matsuda, a photographer working with gelatin silver prints, and Yoshida Tadashi, who produces monochrome works using inkjet print techniques.
