The everyday is full of diverse yet elusive relationships that develop between people, things, places and various situations. Capturing the ephemeral nature of daily life, Takashi Nakajima explores the possibility of stretched film in his work. In doing this he uses the very thin yet tough and somewhat elastic mass-produced material, taking an interest in its transparency, smooth grain, and reflective qualities. It it with this unique medium that Nakajima magnifies the small “catches” he finds in everyday life.
