Yoshiaki Kaihatsu
Yoshiaki Kaihatsu’s “House for Politicians” was established in Minami-Soma City in Fukushima Prefecture on March 15, 2012. Located near the 20km exclusion zone around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, it offers a free rest facility for visiting politicians. Now in its fifth year, the building has begun to deteriorate, the outer facade ageing considerably. Considering the ambiguity that continues to surround the disclosure of information about the disaster, however, Kaihatsu has decided to rebuild a new House for Politicians and continue the project. For this Window Gallery exhibition part of the original building will be exhibited along with documentary images shot by Naohiro Yoshida. This is a chance to revisit the nuclear problem in Fukushima once again.
