Japan through the lens of an English-language newspaper - 120 years of The Japan Times

Newspark - The Japan Newspaper Museum
Finished
As the first domestic English-language newspaper to be published by the Japanese, The Japan Times looked to become a bridge between Japan and other countries. This exhibition presents around 120 pages of the newspaper, arranged into various time periods and themes, that have been carefully selected from the some 500,000 pages that have been printed since its launch in 1897. It will introduce how Japan has been reported on through a diverse range of examples, touching on subjects such as economic and political circumstances, as well as life and culture.
