101 × Tambourin Gallery “Sake to Art”

Popularity Gallery & Studio
Finished
Drinking sake has long been an integral part of celebratory events and festivals in Japan. Part of this custom is the traditional array of drinking ephemera involved, including “tokkuri” decanters and small drinking cups and vessels. A culture has grown up around sake, established as a business via sake bars, restaurants and so forth. Building on this, the current exhibition introduces sake from the standpoint of art. Here you can discover artworks and sake related products produced by 23 artists who are passionate about this Japanese alcohol.
A second exhibition will be held at 101 (hitomaruichi) from January 13th to 19th, and the artworks from this event will be added to the display at Tambourin Gallery thereafter, viewable here from January 20th to 21st.
