Shame Tomatsu “Oh! Shinjuku”

Akio Nagasawa Gallery Ginza
Finished

Artists

Shomei Tomatsu
Around 1970 Shinjuku was a symbolic place full of euphoria and chaos, at a time when hippies, protests against the Vietnam War and student movements were in their heyday. After graduating from university photographer Shomei Tomatsu spent most of his life in Shinjuku, frantically capturing each day through his lens. This exhibition will present the works from this era when Japan was tearing with energy.
