Kiiro
Kiiro is an artist that uses photographs he has shot in order to create artworks and express the cosmos. His variegated expressive power that cannot be contained by the photographic frame has attracted the attention of collectors and those attending art fairs around the world, including in Belgium and France. In his new work he moves away from the cosmos, which he has been depicting since 2009, and focuses instead on sakura (cherry blossom), a symbolic flowering tree in Japan. His subject is a mountain sakura not easily accessible to onlookers. His photo montages collage together multiple large images in order to capture the poetry of these trees. Kiiro observes the trees as they bloom in the quiet and dance and move in the wind, attempting to represent all this as a single moment. “Sakura” is an ambitious work where natural order and harmony spread like the cosmos and connect with the aesthetics espoused by Sen no Rikyu, known for his profound influence the Japanese “Way of Tea.” Besides two pairs of folding screen works that are more than four meters in length, there will be six other works on exhibit.
