Artists

Ryan Su
As a modern Asian artist, Ryan Su imbues his works with subjects that have symbolic meanings rooted in Eastern philosophy and are suggestive of animism. He uses only black and white, as is common in traditional Chinese painting, representing the original essence and purity of life. The suggestion is that hope, expressed often as light, is not exterior but exists inside of ourselves within the darkness.
For this artist, every animal stands as a metaphor for the essence of life - for wisdom, power, fortune. This is his homage to the world history of culture.
15 of his latest paintings will be presented here.
