“Imayo” refers to a currently trendy or contemporary style. This exhibition presents pieces by six artists practicing traditional Japanese techniques whose works can be said to embody the “imayo” aesthetic. See how they carry on and reinvent ancient arts and crafts in 40 contemporary works of their own, presented along with 10 classical masterpieces they from which they have received inspiration.
