Godzilla’s powerful atomic breath, the impressive birth of King Ghidorah and his tremendous gravity beams, the splendid Specium Ray of the original Ultraman - all of these were created in painitings by SFX guru Sadao Iizuka, who has been working in special effects for over 60 years. Meanwhile, Yuji Kaida is recognised as a renowned monster artist in Japan, having painted numerous special effects for heroes and monsters such as Ultraman and Godzilla over the past 40 years. In this exhibition you can see Kaida’s illustrations of Ultra Seven (Ultraman) complete with the addition of Iizuka’s hand painted Eye Slugger Specium Ray. See the original artwork created in this dream collaboration. Approximately 20 works will be on display.
