For his first exhibition at this gallery, ceramicist Dohei Fujinoki will be teaming up with young female artist Tomo Shimizu. At first glance Fujinoki’s works are obviously examples of Karatsu Ware, but what is also apparent as you keep looking is their modern appearance that is full of personality. Shimizu is an up-and-coming abstract painter whose work typically features motifs such as the sky, the sun and celestial bodies. See how the practice of these two artists comes together here.
